Well, today a note turned up in my e-mail from a member of the camera club I joined last year. It contained a link to a website that covered photo shooting locations for the United States and a couple foreign countries to boot.
This caught my attention, as good shooting locations can be hard to find after you've been in a community for a while. Maybe one just loses creativity over time or just forgets how to see photo opportunities when they arise. The fact remains: there is still a lot to shoot!
Checking the above website, and selecting "Washington" from a graphics map, a two-page listing of photo ops opened, and listed a long list of shooting opportunities in western Washington only!
What the heck? There's more that Widbey Island and Snoqualmie pass, etc.!
Eastern Washington is beautiful; there are myriad opportunities available for photographers everywhere.
How many cities have a huge river running through downtown? We do in Spokane.
Whenever I have posted shots of the Spokane River and explained where it flows, comments are frequently along the line of "...that's in town???" or "I've been to Spokane and didn't even know that river was there".
Photogs can drive a short distance from town and find mountains, streams, flowers, wildlife, trails and fields. Grasses, wild growth, crumbling towns, rustic fences, lots of great shots!
Anyway, this blog is dedicated to the photographers of Eastern Washington; you know who you are, and there are lots of other shooters, amateur to pro who want to see what you've done.
Feel free to upload whatever you like that shows the best of where we live.
I'll start!
